October 4th - Opera's Perpetual Predicaments

 

 

To kick off the classical season Belle Voci, will offer up an evening of drama,

passion, and intrigue when it presents Opera’s Perpetual Predicaments.  If you

are an opera lover or are wanting your first taste of opera this is a concert not

to miss.  The evening will consist of ensembles, trios, duets and arias from 

many of the great Operas such as La Traviata, Un Ballo in Maschera, Don Giovanni,

Cosi fan tutti, Don Carlo, Il Trovatore, La Cenerentola, and much more.

 

Making her Belle Voci debut is mezzo-soprano Ellen Nordstrom-Baer.  Ellen is

a graduate of the University of North Carolina.  She has performed lead and

comprimaria roles with the Rome Opera Festival, Brandenburg Opera, Opera

North, Northern Stage and Dartmouth Repertory Players.  She was recently

appointed chair of the vocal department at Concord Community Music School.

The American Spirituals - January 2008 - Natick Public Library

 

Sponsored by the Boston Alumni Chapter of Sigma Alpha Iota, Belle Voci presented an

afternoon of songs that are an integral part of our musical heritage - the Negro Spirituals. 

Belle Voci gave tribute to these songs and to those who have performed them, including

the legendary Marian Anderson, Paul Robeson and Roland Hayes.

 

 

America's Melodies - May 2008 - Bedford Public Library

 

Friends of the Bedford Library concluded their 2007-2008 Sunday at the Library

concert series with a presentation of “America’s Melodies” performed by Manchester’s

own classical vocal ensemble Belle Voci.  The afternoon will featured a selection of

Negro Spirituals, Classical Folk Songs, and Broadway Favorites.
